The NCIS universe is on the brink of welcoming a fresh addition to its ever-growing franchise with the upcoming release of NCIS: Origins. This new series will transport viewers back in time, following a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs as he starts his journey as an officer with the Naval Investigative Service (NIS). As the premiere date approaches, CBS has been steadily building anticipation by teasing fans with glimpses of what to expect. The latest batch of promotional photos offers another sneak peek into the prequel series, and it’s clear that the show will evoke plenty of 90s nostalgia. The images showcase a retro vibe, with warm, soft color tones that perfectly capture the era.
These new photos were shared via the official NCISverse Instagram account, accompanied by a caption inviting Gibbs fans to enjoy “a little behind-the-scenes peek.” The slideshow kicks off with a solo shot of Austin Stowell, who portrays the young Gibbs, in a bustling warehouse surrounded by work tools. Gibbs is hard at work, sleeves rolled up, as he handles one of the tools. Another image features Stowell alongside Kyle Schmid, who plays his mentor Mike Franks, posing happily with other cast members who portray Gibbs’ colleagues at Camp Pendleton. There’s also a glimpse of Special Agent Lala Dominguez, played by Mariel Molino, who serves as Gibbs’ romantic interest, though they aren’t seen together in any of the photos. The entire cast seems to be having a great time on set, hinting that fans are in for an exciting and nostalgic treat when NCIS: Origins premieres on CBS this fall.
