CBS Boss Addresses Cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i

The cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i after three seasons has been addressed by Amy Reisenbach, a senior executive at CBS Entertainment. The spin-off series, which followed Special Agent Jane Tennant (played by Vanessa Lachey), was cancelled earlier this year.

Reisenbach acknowledged the disappointment among fans, stating that cancelling a show is always a “really tough call”. She explained that the decision is made after careful consideration of factors such as viewership numbers, future projections, and opportunities for success on the schedule.

Vanessa Lachey, who played the lead role of Jane Tennant, expressed her gratitude and pride on social media after the show’s conclusion. She shared a heartfelt tribute to her character, highlighting the significance of representing an Asian American and Pacific Islander woman on TV. Lachey encouraged fans to continue pushing boundaries and breaking glass ceilings, stating that anything they dream is within their reach.

NCIS airs on CBS in the US, while seasons 1-20 are available to stream on Disney+ in the UK. NCIS: Los Angeles can be watched on CBS in the US and Sky Max in the UK.
