Deadline’s latest scoop unveils exciting additions to the upcoming NCIS prequel series. Set in the early ’90s, precisely in 1991, the show offers a glimpse into the formative years of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Mark Harmon in the original series. Austin Stowell takes on the role of the younger Gibbs, navigating his early days as a special agent at NIS Camp Pendleton, under the leadership of NCIS legend Mike Franks, played by Kyle Schmid. Alongside Stowell, the series features Mariel Molina, Tyler Abercrombie, and Diany Rodriguez, adding depth to the ensemble cast.

Intriguingly, the prequel introduces recurring characters portrayed by Daniel Bellomy, Caleb Martin Foote, and Robert Taylor. Bellomy steps into the role of Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawson, a probationary agent eager to climb the ranks from his position as the Evidence Custodian’s assistant. Foote portrays Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf, tasked with mentoring Gibbs and bringing a fresh perspective to the team. Taylor joins the cast as Gibbs’ father, adding a layer of familial complexity to the narrative.

Fans of Power Book II: Ghost may recognize Bellomy from his role as Zeke in previous seasons. Zeke’s tragic demise, orchestrated by his stepfather Lorenzo, played by Berto Colon, sent shockwaves through the series. As NCIS: Origins unfolds, Bellomy’s portrayal of Dawson promises to captivate audiences, offering a new dimension to the NCIS universe.
