Mark Harmon Returns as Gibbs in the NCIS Spin-off: ‘NCIS: Origins’!

Beloved NCIS star Mark Harmon is back as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the highly anticipated spin-off, NCIS: Origins.

The series will delve into Gibbs’s backstory, with Austin Stowell portraying his younger self. Harmon will make a cameo appearance in the pilot and narrate the events set in 1991. Plus, he’s stepping into an executive producer role alongside his son, Sean.

Having joined NCIS in 2003, the 73-year-old icon brought to life the Marine Corps scout sniper-turned-special agent who led a team for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, appearing in 437 episodes. After leaving the main series in season 19, Harmon candidly shared on The Kelly Clarkson Show that fatigue played a big role in his departure: “For the longest time, I was just tired,” he shared, reflecting on the demanding hours.

Despite his exit, Harmon continues to lend his iconic character to NCIS spin-offs, with his next appearance in NCIS: Origins set to air on Monday, October 14, on CBS. Don’t miss it!
