Despite Mark Harmon’s departure from his beloved character Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the long-running CBS procedural in 2021, fans and the actor himself still hold deep affection for the role. Harmon will be returning to television in a new NCIS spinoff, rather than reprising his previous role.
On Monday, June 24, CBS shared a photo of Harmon and his co-stars on set, seated outside their trailers labeled with their respective character names. The new spinoff, titled NCIS: Origins, is receiving a significant update in its cast as additional stars join the production. Harmon credited Jamie Lee Curtis, who starred alongside him in “Freaky Friday,” for generating renewed interest in the movie and ultimately making the sequel a reality. Harmon expressed, “I’ve known her since she was 15,” and confidently added, “If she’s talking about it, then it will happen, because all things happen.”
In addition to these developments, the annual film festival will also showcase a comprehensive celebration of Robert De Niro’s illustrious career, an event eagerly awaited by film enthusiasts.
