Gabriel Olds, a 52-year-old actor known for his recurring roles on series like NCIS, Criminal Minds, and Law and Order, has been arrested on seven felony sexual assault charges, according to KCAL News. The charges include three counts of forcible rape, one count of sodomy by force, one count of raping an unconscious or asleep person, and additional charges for assault with intent to commit a felony.
Reports indicate that Olds allegedly lured his victims into “a false sense of security” by meeting them on dating apps or leveraging his status as a Yale alum with film industry connections. According to the victims, Olds’ behavior would turn violent without their consent. Investigators have identified three women who were assaulted by Olds and two others who reported lesser sexual misconduct.
Detective Brent Hopkins stated, “We heard the same story again and again. Mr. Olds started off as charming, but then used brutal violence to carry out these rapes. Some of these survivors suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak up. Now that he’s off the streets, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to be heard.”
The LAPD is continuing to seek additional witnesses or victims connected to Olds. His bail has been set at $3.5 million. Olds’ most recent role was in the Oscar-winning film The Eyes of Tammy Faye, where he portrayed televangelist Pat Robertson. He also made appearances in episodes of FBI: International and The Rookie: Feds.
