Sasha Alexander, who portrayed Agent Kate Todd on NCIS, has maintained a vibrant career in television and film since her departure from the show. Agent Kate Todd was a crucial member of the NCIS team until her dramatic exit in the second season when she was shot in the head by the double-agent Ari Haswari. Ari’s half-sister, Ziva David, ultimately avenged her by fatally shooting Ari.
Following her time on NCIS, Sasha Alexander appeared in a variety of shows and films, including “Lucky 13,” “Yes Man,” “Friends,” “The Ride,” “He’s Just Not That Into You,” “Mission: Impossible III,” and “FBI.” One of her most notable roles was as Maura Isles in the series “Rizzoli & Isles,” where she starred for six years. She also portrayed Helene Runyon in the SAG Award-winning series “Shameless.”
More recently, Sasha lent her voice to the character Adeline in the animated film “Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons,” starred in “Dangerous Lies,” and appeared in an episode of “Law & Order.”
In her personal life, Sasha is married to Edoardo Ponti, whom she met at USC’s film school. They married in 2007. Sasha is the daughter-in-law of legendary Italian actress Sophia Loren, who is Edoardo’s mother from her marriage to Carlo Ponti. Sasha and Edoardo have two children together, a daughter named Lucia Sofia Ponti and a son named Leonardo Fortunato Ponti.
In May, the former NCIS star celebrated her 50th birthday with loved ones in Paris, marking another milestone in her rich and varied life.
