### NCIS Hawai’i Star Sharif Atkins Lands New Role in Apple TV+ Series “Me”

Sharif Atkins, known for his role as Captain Norman ‘Boom Boom’ Gates on “NCIS Hawai’i,” has secured his first role since the show’s cancellation. Atkins will star in the upcoming Apple TV+ coming-of-age drama series “Me.”

“Me” follows middle-schooler Ben, who discovers he has superpowers while adjusting to a newly blended family. The 10-episode season takes Ben on a journey of self-discovery, with his stepsister Max helping him harness his powers and uncover community secrets and tragedies. Atkins will play Darren Kennedy in the series.

The cast also includes Lucian-River Chauhan as Ben, Abigail Pniowsky, Dilshad Vadsaria, Amanda Reid, Jessy Yates, and Kyle Howard. Created by Barry L. Levy, “Me” is set to premiere on July 12 on Apple TV+.

Earlier this year, CBS cancelled “NCIS: Hawai’i” after three seasons. CBS Entertainment’s Amy Reisenbach explained the decision, emphasizing the tough choices involved in programming and projecting future success.

Catch “Me” streaming on Apple TV+ starting July 12.
