NCIS star Michael Weatherly has shared the first set photo from the upcoming spinoff, NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The series reunites Weatherly and Cote de Pablo as their iconic characters, following Tony and Ziva—and their daughter Tali—as they go on the run across Europe after Tony’s security firm is attacked.
With filming now underway, Weatherly gave fans an update on Instagram, sharing a selfie from the set and captioning it: “Taking a breather in the heat during our exciting #ncis Tony & Ziva extravaganza!”
The project was announced in February by Weatherly, de Pablo, and showrunner John McNamara. In a joint statement, they said: “We’ve been talking about this story for years. Now, with John at the helm, we’re ready. The world of Tony and Ziva promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears, and laughter. This is for the fans who’ve supported the ‘TIVA’ movement for years.”
McNamara also expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled to explore the NCIS universe with Cote and Michael and grateful to CBS Studios and Paramount+ for allowing us to shoot in Europe. As for the series title—well, I’d be violating the Espionage Act if I told you!”
NCIS airs on CBS in the US, with Seasons 1-20 streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
