NCIS: Origins, the highly anticipated CBS spinoff, is shaping up with a stellar cast lineup. Set to explore the early years of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the iconic character played by Mark Harmon, the show will feature Austin Stowell as the younger Gibbs, with Harmon returning to narrate. Joining the ensemble are Mariel Molina, Tyla Abercrumbie, Diany Rodriguez, and Kyle Schmid, who will portray the younger version of Mike Franks, Gibbs’ partner.
In a recent casting update reported by Deadline, three new stars have been added to the mix. Robert Taylor will take on the role of Gibbs’ father, originally portrayed by the late Ralph Waite. Waite’s character appeared in eight episodes before his passing in 2014, making Taylor’s portrayal a significant addition to the series. Additionally, Daniel Bellomy joins as the ambitious probationary agent, Special Agent Granville “Granny” Dawson, while Caleb Martin Foote steps in as Special Agent Benjamin “Randy” Randolf, tasked with mentoring Gibbs and bringing a fresh perspective as a new father of twins. With these new additions, NCIS: Origins promises to delve deeper into the rich backstory of one of television’s most beloved characters.
