James Bond is Coming to NCIS… Sort Of!
In the upcoming Season 22 of NCIS, a new character will bring a twist of James Bond to the show. Showrunner Steven D. Binder revealed that the series will feature an older guest star in a fun episode centered around what happens when a Jason Bourne or James Bond-type spy, now retired and facing the challenges of aging, ends up in a retirement home. Binder teased, “What do you do when you have those skills and knowledge, but you’re starting to lose your s–t?”
NCIS, created by Donald P. Bellisario, has been a fan favorite since its 2003 debut as a JAG spinoff. The upcoming season, premiering on Oct. 14, stars Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, Rocky Carroll, and Gary Cole.
Two New NCIS Spinoffs Coming Soon
The NCIS franchise continues to expand. Following the recent end of NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans, two new spinoffs are set to debut in the 2024-25 season. NCIS: Origins will explore Jethro Gibbs’ early career, with Austin Stowell as young Gibbs and Mark Harmon narrating. Meanwhile, NCIS: Tony & Ziva will reunite Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo for a European-based mission.
