After a successful first season, NCIS: Sydney is set to return for Season 2, but with a change in schedule. The spin-off, which previously filled CBS’s primetime Tuesday slot during the writers and actors’ strikes, will now move to Fridays at 8/7c starting January 31, 2025. This shift will push S.W.A.T. to its new time slot at 10/9c.
Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, praised the show’s success, saying, “The global power of the NCIS franchise became even stronger with the addition of NCIS: Sydney. Our American viewers have fully embraced these engaging characters, unique stories, and the fabulous Australian scenery. We’re thrilled to bring this show back to CBS next season and spend more time down under.”
While CBS is keeping details of Season 2 under wraps, the core cast, including Olivia Swann, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar, Tuuli Narkle, Mavournee Hazel, and William McInnes, is expected to return. Fans can look forward to more action-packed investigations, as the show continues its groundbreaking blend of U.S. NCIS agents working with the Australian Federal Police to tackle naval crimes in contested waters.
Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger with JD (played by Todd Lasance) in a life-threatening situation after trying to make a dangerous trade to save his son. Fans are eagerly awaiting answers when the new season kicks off.
