Over its two-decade run, NCIS has seen many cast members come and go, leading fans to constantly wonder if their favorite stars will be next to leave. Recent speculation arose when Wilmer Valderrama was cast in the upcoming Disney+ series Zorro, sparking fears that he might be moving on from NCIS.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Valderrama addressed these concerns head-on while promoting his new memoir. “The fans are so passionate about NCIS,” he said, acknowledging the worries about his departure. He reassured fans that he is staying on the show, saying, “Yeah, no. I’m OK. I’m in the season.” This confirms what he previously shared with TV Insider: “NCIS has been and will be my home for a while.”
Valderrama also offered a glimpse into what fans can expect from Season 22. He hinted at a season filled with personal journeys for the characters, a shift towards more humor, and emotionally charged storylines. “We’re playing a lot more with personal journeys for our characters,” he explained, “and perhaps — perhaps — they’re going to be in major danger.”
So, despite the buzz around his new project, Valderrama remains committed to NCIS, with Torres diving back into his undercover roots while the rest of the team explores new paths.
