CBS has officially renewed “NCIS” and “The Neighborhood” for the 2024-25 broadcast season, solidifying their positions as top contenders in the network’s lineup.
“NCIS” has consistently been a powerhouse in television, ranking among the top 20 series for 18 out of its 20 full seasons. It has also held the title of the No. 1 drama for the past five consecutive seasons and an impressive 13 out of the last 14 seasons. Currently in its 21st season, “NCIS” continues to dominate as the No. 2 entertainment program, following closely behind “Tracker” on CBS. With this renewal, “NCIS” is set to embark on its 22nd season, further cementing its status as a fan favorite.
Meanwhile, “The Neighborhood” has been averaging 5.83 million viewers per season, solidifying its position as the third-ranked comedy on TV. This renewal marks the sitcom’s journey into its seventh season, showcasing its enduring appeal and ability to connect with audiences.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, praised both shows for their authentic storytelling, heart, humor, and portrayal of family dynamics. She expressed pride in bringing back these beloved series for another season, highlighting their importance in the network’s programming lineup.
In addition to “NCIS” and “The Neighborhood,” CBS also announced the renewal of “FBI,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” and “FBI: International.” “FBI” received a three-year renewal, extending its run through the ninth season, while “FBI: Most Wanted” returns for its sixth season and “FBI: International” for its fourth season.
Furthermore, recent renewals include “Fire Country” for its third season, “NCIS: Sydney” for its second season, and “Tracker” for its second season. However, there is still no word on the future of “The Equalizer,” currently in its fourth season.
