NCIS Stars Reunite and Tease Exciting New Projects
Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, and Sean Murray recently reunited on an episode of the NCIS rewatch podcast, where they discussed their upcoming projects with the franchise.
“We haven’t been in the same room together in 10 years,” de Pablo shared. “The three of us, sitting down and actually talking. 10 years.”
“I didn’t do the math, but I know when I see you guys that I feel really good,” Murray added.
Though this marks their first reunion in a decade, the NCIS veterans have seen each other individually through special appearances on the show. Murray remains a regular character, having reunited with de Pablo in Season 17 to resolve old conflicts. Weatherly returned last season during a tribute episode to the late David McCallum, who passed away last September.
Weatherly and de Pablo are set to reunite onscreen in an upcoming spinoff series, scheduled for release at the end of the year. The show will follow their characters, Tony and Ziva, as they travel through Europe to escape an international threat, revealing how they’ve changed over the past ten years.
“We know that we have a past. We know that we are friends and have gone through good and challenging times,” de Pablo said. “Now we’re working together, drawing from all that. Our characters, like us, have evolved.”
Weatherly added, “The dynamic that emerges will be brand new. I can’t wait… I’m looking forward to acting with one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with, Cote de Pablo.”
Murray hinted at a possible appearance in the spinoff. “It’s very possible, especially inside of our franchise. We like to have fun with some of that stuff, and it’s all in the family.”
Additionally, Weatherly and de Pablo announced a new podcast based on NCIS. The podcast, titled “Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch,” will release weekly episodes on Spotify starting June 4. According to Parade, the podcast will feature fan favorites rewatching, reminiscing, and revealing more about the popular TV series. Guests will include present and past cast members like Sean Murray, Sasha Alexander, Eric Christian Olsen, and Jon Cryer. Weatherly announced the news with a promo on Instagram.
