The Shocking Feud Behind Pauley Perrette’s NCIS Exit!

In its 21 years on air, NCIS has welcomed many cast changes, but one stands out: Pauley Perrette’s departure in 2018 after 15 years as the beloved Abby Sciuto. Initially, it seemed amicable, but recent revelations point to a tense fallout with co-star Mark Harmon, who portrays Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

The rift reportedly began in 2016 when Harmon brought his dog to set, which tragically bit a crew member, requiring 15 stitches. Despite concerns from the cast and crew, Harmon continued to bring the dog on set, with some claiming it was often loose. As a producer on NCIS, many felt uncomfortable confronting him about it. Perrette took it upon herself to address the issue directly, leading to a breakdown in their relationship.

From that point on, it was said that the two actors were rarely in the same room; scripts were adjusted to avoid them filming together. Even in Perrette’s final scene, the appearance of them being together was achieved through editing.

When Perrette announced her departure, speculation arose about the tension with Harmon, although some sources claim she had intended to leave prior to the dog incident. Following her exit, Perrette tweeted about a “machine” keeping her “silent,” suggesting that there were more significant issues at play, and hinted at a troubling situation involving Harmon, stating, “He did it.” This fueled fan concerns about potential bullying.

CBS responded, emphasizing that they took Perrette’s workplace concerns seriously and worked towards a resolution. “Pauley Perrette had a terrific run on NCIS and we are all going to miss her,” a spokesperson stated, asserting their commitment to a safe working environment.
