Pauley Perrette is feeling nostalgic as she recently participated in a new shoot for the NOH8 campaign, sharing some archival photos from her time on *NCIS*. In her heartfelt post, she said, “New #NOH8 photo for new @noh8campaign project!!! Going through hundreds of NOH8 pics over the years and all the amazing moments with @adambouska and @jeffparshley. Love you boys so much!”
Many of the photos feature Pauley showcasing her iconic jet-black hair, reminiscent of her beloved character, Abby Sciuto. One standout image was taken at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards, where she wore a custom NOH8 gown to promote the initiative. For over a decade, NOH8 has worked to “promote marriage, gender, and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest.”
Fans flooded the comments with praise, expressing gratitude for her advocacy. One fan commented, “Thank you for being such an amazing voice for equality,” while another stated, “You go girl, you’re beautiful inside and out.” A third fan hailed her as an “activist queen.”
Pauley, who starred on *NCIS* from 2003 to 2018, announced her retirement from acting in 2020, explaining on X (formerly Twitter), “I retired after *NCIS* but BROKE was important and beautiful.” Since then, she has focused on activism, though she still keeps in touch with her *NCIS* co-stars. In June, she shared a joyful reunion photo with former colleague Brian Dietzen and *Criminal Minds* star Kirsten Vangsness at the Hollywood Bowl, humorously captioning it, “NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED HERE!”
Though fans were thrilled to see her reconnect with Brian, many expressed hopes for her return to the show. However, this seems unlikely. Pauley’s character resigned following an assassination attempt, but reports suggest that her departure was also due to a fallout with series lead Mark Harmon. Tensions reportedly arose in 2016 after Mark’s dog bit a crew member, requiring stitches. Notably, Pauley and Mark did not share screen time during her emotional final episode.
Executive producer Charles Floyd Johnson addressed Pauley’s exit, mentioning, “In Pauley Perrette’s case, there was an incident with the show and a dog.” He explained that due to the biting incident involving Mark’s dog, Pauley, an avid animal advocate, felt safety concerns, ultimately leading her to decide it was time to move on.
