Fans were left disappointed on Monday night when no new episodes of NCIS or NCIS: Origins aired. Instead, CBS opted for reruns, with NCIS airing the episode titled Heartless, while an episode of the sitcom The Neighborhood replaced NCIS: Origins. The scheduling decision was met with confusion, with some fans calling it “weird.”
Although CBS hasn’t confirmed the reason for the shake-up, it’s common for networks to adjust schedules to space out episodes across a season. Both NCIS Season 22 and NCIS: Origins Season 1 premiered on October 14, and the network appears to be pacing their releases.
Fans expressed their frustration on Reddit, with one commenting, “New episode next week. Idk why they didn’t do a rerun next week and a new episode this week.” Another simply called the decision “weird.” A third fan lamented, “Oh no, this means there won’t be a new episode tomorrow for me. I have to wait until Tuesday for it to be on Paramount.”
Fortunately, both shows will return next Monday, November 25. NCIS will air a new episode titled Knight and Day, promising plenty of drama as the team tackles another high-stakes case. The synopsis reveals:
“As always, the team is tasked with uncovering the truth behind a seemingly impossible case. This time, they face a new challenge, as the evidence leads them down a trail that will test their investigative skills and resourcefulness. With every twist and turn, the agents must work quickly to piece together the clues before more lives are put at risk.”
Meanwhile, NCIS: Origins will return with an episode titled One Flew Over, which offers fans more insight into Leroy Jethro Gibbs as he navigates his early days with the NCIS team.
Mark your calendars for November 25—both shows are set to deliver episodes worth the wait!
