NCIS: Tony & Ziva will be the franchise’s second international spinoff, following NCIS: Sydney. Producers hope that placing Tony and Ziva in a new, exotic setting will inject fresh energy into the franchise. However, this has left some former cast members anxious about the impact on their own job security.
While the flagship show and the spinoff will air on different platforms, the tension between the two projects is palpable. However, many are optimistic that Tony & Ziva could give the franchise the boost it needs after over two decades on air.
