In February, NCIS actors Michael Weatherly and Sean Murray reunited for a special 2024 TV schedule episode honoring the late David McCallum. This marked their first screen time together on the popular CBS show since Weatherly’s exit in 2016. Back when both were NCIS regulars, they had memorable moments on and off camera, including some elaborate food pranks.
During a recent episode of Off Duty: AN NCIS Rewatch, hosted by Weatherly and Cote de Pablo (Ziva David), guest Brian Dietzen (Dr. Jimmy Palmer) joined in as they reminisced. Weatherly hilariously recounted his prank involving Clif Bars shaped to resemble something unpleasant in Murray’s trailer. It was all about timing and surprise, as Murray unknowingly encountered the gag after a scene shoot.
Not to be outdone, Murray retaliated a week later with a concoction involving mixed foods, leaving Weatherly similarly shocked in his trailer with a pungent surprise. These pranks showcased their playful camaraderie behind the scenes, adding an extra layer of fun to their NCIS days.
While Murray continues his role on NCIS alongside Brian Dietzen and the cast, Weatherly gears up for the exclusive Paramount+ spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Set to begin production later this summer, the series follows Tony and Ziva navigating life on the run in Europe after a security breach at Tony’s company, with their daughter Tali playing a pivotal role.
Stay tuned for NCIS Season 22 on CBS this fall, alongside NCIS: Origins, delving into Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ backstory.
